Write to the Western Region High Adventure Team if your Council High Adventure Team has made up a set or if you would like information on one. The national Council has several slide and strip films on the National High Adventure Bases.
Movies
The National Council has several movies on National High Adventure Bases Inquire of your Council. Two excellent 30 minute color sound movies on hyperthermia and hypothermia are available on loan for the cost of mailing from Safeco Insurance Co. Inquire of local agents. By Nature's Rules an outstanding movie on hypothermia. It takes a small backpacking party through an early fall storm in which two members become victims of hypothermia. it illustrates "prevention" and shows what to do when prevention fails.
The Thermal Wilderness a good movie on hyperthermia and lesser heat problems takes a small backpacking group through a heat wave illustrating "prevention" and when prevention fails": but with over emphasis on salt and under emphasis on replacement of the body electrolytes. Indicated "recovery rates" of victims are for recovery purposes and too short for practical application in many cases.
