Junior Backpacking

This High Adventure Team course is designed for those youth who wish to learn about the fun that backpacking activities adds to the Scouting programs. Here is an opportunity to build on your outdoor skills and leader training. Expand your knowledge of the challenges with different terrain and develop the confidence to safely hike, backpack and camp with your unit.
The course will teach you how to prepare for and enjoy backpacking. The course subjects will teach map & compass, cooking, personal and troop gear, weather, health, safety, and all the other things you need to know in order to plan and conduct a safe, rewarding Troop outing.
One day indoor class training and a weekend overnight trip.
Must be at least 1st Class rank and at least 13 years old.

Outdoor Session - Bear Creek Camp (Sespe River Trail).
Indoor Session - April 16, 2016, 7:30 AM - 5 PM.
Outdoor Session - May 21-22, 2016.
